Router not automatically assigning IP Address.?
Question by Sameh: Router not automatically assigning IP Address.?
Well, I’m inexperienced at fixing tech, but can follow instructions to the point.
My router used to automatically assign an ip address to all my computers and mobile devices (wireless & cable). Now it wont, and my ISP’s support line gave me static Ip Addresses for 3 of my computers. The problem is that any new device that is brought into the house still cannot connect, such as my ipod touch, or another laptop i forgot to get an address for.
Rather than call my ISP and get another static IP, id rather fix it from the source. Any ideas as to what may have happened and how to fix it?
To personalise the question; my ISP is Etisalat, in the UAE, just in case someone here has had a problem with them specifically. My router is a Siemens Speedstream.
Thanks

try this, switch the modem off, switch the router off, switch all the computers off, for a couple of minutes then switch the modem on, switch the router on, then the computers and see what happens you should get a new connection
