Question by DavidR: Working in Dubai…i need work!?
I’m a 23 year-old Mexican national wishing to work (and live) in Dubai, i’m just a college student in Las Vegas now; (obviously) i’m totally fluent (read and write) in Spanish and English and am very computer oriented in my career (Computer Graphics). Do you know what steps i need to take, or what needs to happen in order for me to get a good job in Dubai? Dubai for me is like a wonderland where everyone gets paid well and lives semi-wealthy. Please counsel me.

Dubai recently got less job openings, while Abdhabi is still growing (Abudhabi is like 90 minutes drive from Dubai).
Anyway am sure you can still find a lot of jobs in Dubai, It is better to come first in a visit and while you stay you start searching for jobs, you can start now and see available openings by this nice websites list I just created for you:

    http://www.monstergulf.com/
    http://www.gulftalent.com

Please visit the link giving below. It will provide you with everything you want to know about Dubai.

Please be aware of a couple things. IT related jobs are mostly taking/giving to well educated Indians who are mostly satisfied with the third of the salary you may expect.

Before relocating in Dubai, you should come on a visit. Dubai is not “wonderland” and to enjoy Dubai you need to be able to negotiate a great salary package incl. housing allowance and transportation as a minimum. But to receive this kind of salary, experience is required, which you do not have yet.

Sometimes I think people have way to big expectations about living in Dubai and get hurt when it comes up to daily life and meeting ends. Finding affordable accommodation, heavy time consuming traffic jams, rising living costs and other things I do not want to mention here.

Best thing for you is to finish your studies and get hired with an American company who is also present in the UAE and get transferred.

Go through the offers of the recruitment agencies I sent you, apply and see what comes around. but – please be not dissapointed if you even will not get any reply.

Anyway: good luck and all the best.
