Try the registry medic from Iomatic software. Look it up on-line you can get a free trial. It WILL work for you.

* If you are using Norton antivirus then pls make sure that your floppy drive is empty before shutting down.
* Reload your VGA/AGP driver once again.
* There might be some dll files that are not closing or hanging at the time of shutdown.
* Get HijackThis from searching google. Post the text file genetated by HijackThis to many available tech forums on net or here as details.
