LSAT score 145 GPA 3.4 (diverse student) my chances for scholarship?
Question by Ivan: LSAT score 145 GPA 3.4 (diverse student) my chances for scholarship?
I did my undergraduate from India and scored 68 percent in it that is B+ and according to Wikipedia it comes around 3.4 according to American rankings of GPA. I have a diverse profile with a major in computers and i moved to US 1 year back have worked in India in a multinational bank for 1 year and then worked in UAE Dubai for a bank for 1 year. I am looking to get the best deal in terms of an average law school that can give me a scholarship. With my 145 LSAT score and my 3.4 GPS what are my chances?

I’ll be blunt. With a 145 LSAT score, no worthwhile US law school will give you a scholarship. The only schools you will probably even be accepted to – without a scholarship – are the below average (US News fourth tier) schools, or unaccredited schools.
Your GPA might translate nicely to a 3.4, but the LSAT is used as a comparison tool for situations exactly like yours. Most students with GPAs that good from American schools score far higher on the LSAT.
I strongly suggest you retake the test and try to raise your score – if you are as intelligent as your GPA indicates, you have a lot of room to improve.
One more thing: Your appeal to diversity will not help you at this time. There are plenty of “diverse” applicants who will be more likely to succeed in law school than your LSAT score indicates.
I don’t want to be negative, but I do want to be honest. Good luck!

I’m going to have to agree. You should buy a Kaplan LSAT book and practice everything, you should be able to raise that score a lot.

You have a very low chance at a scholarship with a 145. The only places that will give you one are probably places that you shouldn’t go to anyway. Diversity will not help you that much.
Study for the test, retake it in the summer and apply next year. There are schools out there that will give you good money as a diverse student but your LSAT has to be at least 10 points higher.
