Question by expat: Internet connection speed – how much is enough?
I live in Dubai and am faced with choices as to how much speed to subscribe to on a new connection. We are a family of four, and are all constantly on line – no online gaming though, at least not yet. Our condo is concrete and has two floors – I intend to put in a wireless router. So there are two questions I suppose, how much speed do I need for the four of us (256, 512, 1mb, 2mb) and will I have problems with the wireless signal with concrete walls and floors separating the computers? Thanks !

internet speed is mainly depends on you that how much you can deal with but for four of you and all four are online you need at least 512 but if you are downloader you need 1mb/s at least for four of you and about the router it depends on how far are computers are from that and how many walls is in straight way to your computer and there are some router can deal with concrete walls also for high range.

I would recommend getting the 2mb because if there is a family of FOUR people always online, the internet will run slower versus if there is only one person online, it will run at its greatest speed… for example…. 2 MB if there is four people online, it will divide it into .5 MB for each and so on…. hope this helps, I really recommend 2MB especially with a router

is 2mb speed the best you can get, check all possible isp availible for best deal, isp can usually run a test for you.
if there are 4 of you using PC may be best to get unlimited usage, suppose it depends on cost??
wireless signal shouldn’t be a prob,as long as you aren’t too far from source, case of trial and error
