BSNL broadband using Siemens Speedstream 6520 wireless ADSL Gateway?

I am trying to connect my laptop (win xp) with wireless lan with BSNL broadband using Siemens Speedstream 6520 wireless ADSL Gateway which i was using in UAE.
I have directly connected Speedstream 6520 to my telephone line, DSL line indicator displays “ready to connect status” & my system connect upto Speedstream 6520 but not able to access internet.
I tried to change userid,password,Gateway,DNS details i got from BSNL helpdesk. but not able to fix the issue.
I am not an expert so please assist me by providing step by step procedure which i need to do on my computer & speedstream gateway.

maybe your gateway has security features enabled or you are not choosing the correct type of dsl connection (ex. pppoe, dhcp, static ip, pptp, etc.). make sure to check these because these are also important.
